Mobile Phones

Students are not allowed to use their mobile phones during the school day.  This means:

 

• all phones are handed in when students arrive in school
• student phones are stored safely and securely in the school
• if parents/carers need to contact their child, they can leave a message with the centre administrator

 

Not having phones in school reduces distractions and avoids any difficulties during the school day with social media for example.  The Altus School approach is reflective of government guidance about mobile phones in schools which can be found here:
